Nghiên cứu nhằm khám phá mối quan hệ giữa kiểm soát tâm lý của cha mẹ và cảm nhận hạnh phúc của thanh thiếu niên, thông qua nghiên cứu 664 thanh thiếu niên trong độ tuổi từ 12 đến 18 tại tỉnh Bắc Ninh và thành phố Hà Nội. Trong nghiên cứu này, chúng tôi đã sử dụng ba công cụ đo lường hạnh phúc: thang đo Hài lòng với cuộc sống (SWLS), thang đo Hạnh phúc tinh thần (Warwick-Edinburgh - WEMWBS) và thang đo Hạnh phúc phụ thuộc (HIS). Thêm vào đó, thang đo Kiểm soát tâm lý - thiếu tôn trọng (PCDS) đã được sử dụng để đánh giá mức độ kiểm soát tâm lý của cha mẹ trong gia đình. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy kiểm soát tâm lý của cha và mẹ có tương quan nghịch đối với hạnh phúc của thanh thiếu niên. Kiểm soát tâm lý của cha và mẹ đều ảnh hưởng nhiều nhất đến hài lòng với cuộc sống, sau đó là đến hạnh phúc tinh thần và ảnh hưởng ít nhất đến hạnh phúc phụ thuộc. Kết quả nghiên cứu nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của việc giảm kiểm soát tâm lý của cha mẹ nhằm nâng cao hạnh phúc cho thanh thiếu niên.
