This study aims to clarify the current state of health information literacy on dementia among middle-aged adults in urban communities in Hanoi and Hue. A total of 258 individuals aged 40 to 59 participated in structured questionnaire interviews. The findings indicate that middle-aged adults possess a moderate level of health information literacy regarding dementia (M = 1.71, SD = 1.25, on a scale from 0 to 3). Higher literacy levels were observed among those with higher educational attainment, those who personally knew someone with dementia, and those living farther from healthcare facilities, whereas lower levels were found among individuals with greater anxiety about aging. Moreover, statistically significant differences were identified between residents of Hanoi and Hue. These preliminary results contribute to expanding future research and provide evidence for the development of community-based educational programs aimed at enhancing dementia- related health information literacy, thereby promoting dementia prevention, early screening, and treatment within the community.
