Nghiên cứu này nhằm điều tra vai trò của hỗ trợ xã hội trực tuyến đối với sức khỏe tâm thần của nữ sinh viên tại Việt Nam. Trên mẫu gồm 987 nữ sinh viên ở hai trường đại học tại Việt Nam, nghiên cứu này tìm thấy rằng nữ sinh viên có mức độ hỗ trợ xã hội trực tuyến không cao, mức độ đau khổ tâm lý trung bình và hài lòng một chút với cuộc sống. Kết quả của nghiên cứu này cũng chỉ ra rằng hỗ trợ xã hội trực tuyến có khả năng làm tăng sự hài lòng cuộc sống và giảm đau khổ tâm lý ở nữ sinh viên. Những phát hiện của nghiên cứu này góp phần làm phong phú lý luận và thực trạng về hỗ trợ xã hội trực tuyến, đau khổ tâm lý và hài lòng cuộc sống của sinh viên và mối quan hệ giữa chúng. Đồng thời, kết quả của nghiên cứu gợi ý cho việc đề xuất các biện pháp nhằm cải thiện sức khỏe tâm thần của nữ sinh viên.
